Meet the Organizers
I'm Catherine Huang, one of the organizers for THINK, and I am majoring in Management Science at MIT. I strongly recommend everyone to take the time to explore this competition! There are amazing things you could discover and crazy ideas that you could come up with! It will be tough, but I believe that everyone has the strength to keep on going, and to learn from their mistakes. This competition is an exploration, a journey, and it will be so much fun! Good luck! We believe in you!
My name is Jennifer Sim, and I am double majoring in Brain & Cognitive Sciences and Management. This year I am helping to organize the MIT THINK Competition as one of the Tech Week Co-Chairs. Since TechFair's inception, we have envisioned an open network between companies, labs, and students showcasing the most innovative, cutting-edge technology in all disciplines. For Tech Week 2008, we are expanding TechFair into a week-long celebration of technology, and we would like to share our vision with all high school students around the nation. We look forward to your innovative ideas as we all learn and grow together to make a positive impact in the world through technology.
I am Di Ye, founder of the MIT THINK Competition, and a sophomore at MIT majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I lacked guidance as a freshman in high school, but thanks to the gracious support from several professors I realized the power of the sciences. Looking back, I've realized that however intimidating a task may seem at the beginning, success is surprisingly as simple as the curiosity to explore, the will to persist, and the initiative to ask, "I am very interested in this, could you help me?" This is the story behind THINK. What can be more rewarding and joyful than encountering pleasant surprises along a challenging path, finding hidden treasure after you've struggled and sweated, and arriving at a place you never dared to dream about through a journey created all on your own? We hope THINK will stimulate an amazing adventure as you explore the world and discover your true self along the way. Developing technology for humanity is one of the best ways to put the power of your mind into practice. The reward for your hard work is always more than what you can imagine. Welcome aboard!
